Chapter 165 - 165: Saviours and Reactions

[3rd POV]

'It would seem that there are more civilians under control than Gwen had initially told us' These were the thoughts of Xavier, as he rolled through the streets of New York, his mind constantly expanding and controlling others, primarily mass amounts of Chitauri.

Using his control over the chitauri minds, he forced them to shoot one another as well as themselves, should they be near any other members of their species. Most of them were, so he was rapidly wiping out dozens of chitauri every few minutes.

The amount of civilians under the control of Loki was becoming an issue though, as while he can break the control of them, it took time, and wasn't something he could do to hundreds of minds at the same time, not when he also had chitauri to watch out for, and the flying beasts above constantly moving, albeit less so with Storm killing quite a lot of them.

It would take Gwen defeating Loki to stop this properly, as well as the shutting down of the large portal that hundreds of chitauri were flooding in through at a constant pace.

'Gwen should be able to deal with the Trickster God, if her power is as strong as I have been led to believe. If not, then I am sure Storm or perhaps Jean will be there to help her' Xavier thought, knowing that Jean was certainly beginning to show an attraction to Gwen, while Storm was high up in the skies, giving her a good look at everything, including the place that Gwen was likely fighting Loki at, the Avengers tower.

'The Avengers should be arriving any moment now, once they do, then we'll really be able to stop this invasion for good' Xavier thought, controlling another 20 chitauri to shoot one another, and then themselves.

The Avengers, while not as powerful as some of his X-Men, were strong, and they were coordinated. They also were more likely to know what to do in order to stop the invasion, and shut down the portal for good, if not, then it would be up to Hank and Gwen to shut down the portal, and Gwen herself to take out Loki. The Avengers might be able to take on Loki themselves, but he was far more certain that Gwen herself could.

Gazing off into the distance of the street he was on, seeing all the destruction caused by the invasion, Xavier let out a sigh.

'The best I can do now is support Gwen, and hope she can defeat that madman'

Scott Summers was confused, very very confused. He had been doing his best to wipe out every chitauri, leviathan, and chitauri gorilla he could see, his optic beams ripping through them like butter, not a single one of them surviving a single blast from him.

The reason as to why Scott was so confused, was because he was currently watching a man? Teen? Throw punches against chitauri soldiers, all the while webbing them to walls and ground, keeping them held down. The individual had a red and blue spandex with a spider symbol on the front of it. He was skillfully dodging every blast and blow that headed his way, launching kicks, punches, and webs at all the chituari in his surroundings.

'Who the hell is this guy?' Scott thought, frowning as he looked at the man in the suit, only to shake it off, as red beams of energy flowed from his eyes, ripping into chituari that was about to blast the hero in the back.

Turning, the hero couldn't help but exclaim "Wow! That was awesome, thanks for the save laser eyes!" The Spider hero said, as Scott deadpanned.

'Great, another Gwen. At least this guy isn't stupidly strong and seems to know literally everything' Scott sighed, as he rapidly fired off his lasers akin to a gun or something, killing the remaining chitauri that were attacking.

"Man...that was anticlimactic. I was hoping for some more epic battles but that's alright" Spiderman said, huffing slightly as Scott groaned.

"Look, Spiderguy-" "Spiderman, my name is Spiderman!" "Alright, look Spiderman, you need to get all the civilians you find onto the bottom floor of buildings, they'll be safe and watched over there" Scott said, regretting his choices in that moment.

"Eh? How would they be safe on the bottom floor?"

"Too long to explain properly, just trust me and get them onto the bottom floors!" Scott replied, raising his voice ever so slightly in order to get his point across.

"Alright alright, sheesh, no need to get mad" Spiderman huffed, before swinging off, leaving an incredibly confused Scott, who had no idea what to even say to that...entire situation.

'...I should get paid for this shit' Scott thought, groaning as he walked off, beginning to kill more chitauri once more.

Around the world, the reactions to the invasion, and the arrival of the X-Men was...mixed to say the least.

At BBC news, a strong debate was going on.

"Do you really think the X-Men mean any harm? They're helping the citizens of New York!" A woman protested.

"Hmph, I'm certain it is in order to gain favor with the masses, so the Mutant laws that are in talks of being passed get denied, it's obvious" A man retorted with a scoff.

The two had been debating for a while now, on whether or not the X-Men were there to truly help, or to take advantage of the invasion to look good. Originally the talks were supposed to be about the invasion itself, and the progress in stopping it, but they had gone off script, as the man was...quite racist towards mutants.

"So what? Those laws are immoral and borderline inhuman in nature, it is only right they would be against them! Any normal person would! And they are still helping people either way, so does it matter?" The woman replied, growing annoyed with the man who she had clashed with before.

"I just think that we shouldn't trust them, that is all. Afterall, those laws are being talked about for a reason"

On sites like Twitter, the masses were...just as split.

All over the internet people were debating and talking about the invasion, and that the X-Men, a bunch of mutants, had shown up to save humans, before the Avengers did, the same Avengers who were supposed to be the "Earth's Mightiest Heroes" only to not show up at all.

For now, all the people around the world could do, was hope for the best, and pray for those in New York

Back in New York, Gwen was still messing with Loki, mostly so she could draw out the others that were hiding, others that she knew needed to die here, otherwise they'd cause some serious issues for her.

As she slapped the man on the back of the head and dodged his slash from his scepter, she watched in amusement at the man snarled "FINE! You asked for it you bitch! Come out and help me kill her..."

"Corvus Glaive!"

"And...Proxima Midnight!"

Looking between the two servants of the Mad Titan, Gwen had one thought on her mind as she got serious.

'...Now the real battle starts'

That's the end of the Chapter!

I decided to start to do more reactions, POV's of other people, and that stuff so that I can start to really build the world more. So in future Chapters, you can expect to see reactions from other forces, media, and other areas. I ended up getting this idea from reading a couple of fanfics, namely Camelot's Rise in Marvel (Which is a pretty good fic).

Next Chapter will probably be the last Chapter for this invasion, with the Chapters afterwards being reactions to the end, and some other stuff.
