100 Days to Seduce the Devil

Chapter 888 The Last Mission: The Catalyst

Day Ninety-Four…

Jane had been unconscious for twelve hours now. And the doctor couldn't find anything unusual. Her examination results were all normal.

"Doc, tell us! What's going on with my daughter? Why is she not waking up?" Mr. Hiroshi asked the doctor in his worried tone.

Nathan tried to comfort Ethan who was still crying beside him.

"Sir, we've done all the tests. But the results are always normal–"

The doctor wasn't able to finish his words as Mr. Hiroshi grabbed his shoulders, shaking his body.

"You have to do everything to cure my daughter. I'll pay you!"

The doctor tried his best to calm Mr. Hiroshi down. Though he didn't make any promises.

"If you can't cure her, I'll bring her abroad!" Mr. Hiroshi couldn't feel at ease. He had just reunited with his daughter. He couldn't afford to lose her again.

Nathan reacted upon hearing Mr. Hiroshi's last remarks. "Mr. Hiroshi, I want to bring her to my medical facility. There, I have a pool of experts who can examine her."

"Fine! Let's do that for now." Mr. Hiroshi agreed.

It did not take long before Nathan contacted the medical facility of the Syphiruz Mafia. Veronica was the one overseeing the facility.

"Veronica, prepare the VIP ward of our facility. We will transfer a patient today." Nathan didn't inform her about the details of the patient so Veronica didn't know that he was referring to Jane.

"Okay, Nate. I'll make an arrangement for this," Veronica responded.

After giving Veronica instructions, Nathan hung up the phone.

"Dad, will my Mommy be alright?" Ethan asked his father expectantly. His eyes were already swollen from crying.

"Yes. She will be fine," Nathan reassured him. However, deep inside, Nathan was also worried-sick about Jane.

Did Monica do something to her? How come they couldn't see any signs? Was Jane poisoned?

As Mr. Hiroshi and Nathan prepared Jane's transfer, several people came to visit her. Members of the Phantom Assassin Guild led by Mrs. Frost showed up with Black Rose and others.

Abigail, Dave, Hanabi, and Tatsumi also arrived at the hospital. Many people were hoping for Jane to wake up soon.

"How could this happen? Do you think Monica used some tricks?" Tatsumi asked Hanabi.

Hanabi narrowed her eyes upon hearing that. "I don't know. Sister Jane destroyed the poison. There was no way Monica could harm her."

"If not Monica, I guess… Vincent has something to do with this!" Tatsumi blurted out as he speculated. "He was the only person who came in contact with her yesterday!"

"Let's inform Nathan about this!" Tatsumi pulled Hanabi's hand.

Meanwhile, as everyone was worrying about Jane, another strange phenomenon was happening to her.

Jane felt as if she were in another dimension, a parallel world where she could observe her other self and the people close to her.

She just stood on her spot, watching her father as he gently wiped her arm. Mr. Hiroshi became older than his usual age. Dark circles could be seen under his eyes, an indication of his sleepless nights.

Jane had the urge to embrace the old man whose sadness was evident in his eyes.

"My daughter… Please, you have to fight and survive. You are not alone. Nathan and Ethan were both fighting with you. The three of you must survive." Mr. Hiroshi's voice trembled as he tried to hold back his tears.

"Oh. By the way, your sister… Abi, she is waiting for you. She wants you to escort her during her wedding. She won't marry if you won't wake up. Your brother-in-law will suffer if you delay their wedding. So you have to wake up now, my daughter." Mr. Hiroshi's hand reached out, caressing her cheeks.

"Don't worry about your enemies. The entire clan will hunt them down. One by one. Even death won't help them escape," Mr. Hiroshi swore through his gritted teeth.n/o/vel/b//in dot c//om

After a while, Mr. Hiroshi left the ward. Then new visitors came– Tatsumi and Hanabi. Both of them had a sullen look on their faces.

Hanabi couldn't utter a word as she began to sob. Tatsumi could only tap her shoulder, comforting her.

"This is my fault. I failed to protect her." Hanabi was blaming herself. "If only we arrived earlier… we could have prevented this from happening."

Tatsumi nodded in agreement. "I feel the same way. But don't be so hard on yourself. Jane won't be happy once she finds out you've been skipping your meals. You look thinner now." There was a hint of genuine concern in Tatsumi's voice.

Hanabi took a deep sigh. "You have no right to lecture me. I know you are punishing yourself as well. Uncle Kazuki told me that you were still suffering from a nightmare… just like me."

There was a moment of silence between the two.

"I could still vividly recall… the moment sis Jane tried to kill herself in front of us. I will never forget that," Hanabi mumbled in her hoarse voice.

"I should have stopped her…" she burst out, unable to control her emotions.

Tatsumi could only pull her into a warm embrace, rubbing her back to console her. "Sshhhh! Stop crying. I'm not used to seeing you like this."

Jane could only gasp when a realization came to her. 'No! This is not a dream… nor a premonition. I guess… this is the present timeline…'

A flash of hope could be seen in her eyes as she darted her eyes back and forth between Nathan and Ethan.

"They are not dead… yet. We can survive this… as long as I complete my mission. The three of us will come back here in the present timeline and survive!" Jane smiled as she tried to connect the dots.

Completing Bam-Bam's mission would become the catalyst that could bring her back to the present timeline together with Ethan and Nathan.

"I have to go back now. I need to complete my mission so that we can return here in the present timeline."

Jane closed her eyes as she concentrated. She needed to wake up now. She had something to do.
