Chapter 421 The Merger of the Family
The ancient city of Muto was situated at the extreme western end, and when Chen Yu and his group rushed out, they also headed west at full speed.
In the struggle for the so-called elixir of immortality, various factions would certainly fight tooth and nail, and a deadly brawl in the ancient city was inevitable.
Yet they managed to leave the place unscathed, which would undoubtedly fuel wild speculation, so they couldn't double back east but had to cross the border westward, heading straight for Europe.
Snow might not be able to obtain what he wanted from among the various factions and would surely be furiously ashamed afterward.
By then he would definitely rally the entire family's strength to strike at William's family out of spite.
What Chen Yu needed to do now was to reach William's family in the shortest possible time.
When they arrived at a small town at the far western end of the desert, several vehicles stopped.
The boy selling maps got out of the vehicle and handed Chen Yu a crystal-clear gemstone.
"We've collaborated with many people before, but either they stab us in the back halfway or abandon us on the road, only you have harbored no ulterior motives from beginning to end. Consider this a testament to our cooperation, and next time you have a matter, you can come directly to me with this."
Chen Yu hadn't expected the boy to be so mature.
About to speak, the burly man respectfully approached the boy.
"Boss, we've wasted too much time here; we must hurry back, or the old lady will get angry."
The boy nodded, then cast a teasing look at Chen Yu.
"Actually, I'm thirty years old this year, I just have dwarfism, so my body will never grow!"
With an optimistic explanation, the little boy then drove away with his men.
Chen Yu raised an eyebrow, he hadn't seen it coming.
Jin Lingsu pulled Luo Sanpao to Chen Yu's side.
"Now that you've got what you wanted, there's no need to keep following us anymore. Take your people and find a place nearby to settle down."
Luo Sanpao was somewhat reluctant; while he loved the desert, he couldn't possibly stay there forever.
"Sis! Let me go with you, Brother Chen is practically a deity. If I can stay by his side, my future will be boundless!"
Jin Lingsu gave Luo Sanpao a thump on the head.
"What are you thinking, can't you see the kind of people we're dealing with? No matter how powerful he is, can he protect you for a lifetime? You just stay here and build something for yourself. Who knows, we might need a place to stay one day, and we'll come to you for shelter."
Luo Sanpao chuckled, clearly touched by her words.
"Then I'll stay here, but you all have to remember to come back and visit me."
Without another word, Jin Lingsu drove to the nearest airport with Chen Yu.
Sally was standing not too far away, quietly watching the scene unfold. Back in the ancient city of Muto, Chen Yu had a heart-to-heart talk with her.
He detailed the conflicts between the major organizations and what they were seeking to her.
The girl was no fool; although she was keen on finding a strong backer for her later life, she was still able to distinguish right from wrong.
Chen Yu's personal capabilities were beyond any organization, and as long as she waited here obediently, she would still be considered one of Chen Yu's people.
Moreover, with Luo Sanpao's connection, sooner or later, Chen Yu would return to the desert to take her away.n/ô/vel/b//in dot c//om
William's estate in Frankfurt.
Victor could say he had walked through the gates of hell and survived, returning only to seclude himself behind closed doors.
In the vast room, several elders of William's family sat with faces full of worry, while Victor lay in bed coughing incessantly.
"The Lakato Family is simply too powerful, their influence almost spans the entire world. Thinking of opposing them is like a fool dreaming."
"It has been centuries, how can these guys still not let go?"
"The matter of our ancestors was long closed, yet now that they have the power, they have gone back on their word." Stay connected with empire
"Just when we had a respite from the Edward Family stirring trouble, now we have to confront the Lakato Family. Is this God's punishment upon us?"
...
The few elders were extremely anxious, as William's family had indeed not reached this point easily.
Moreover, several recent mishaps had already caused problems within William's family. If struck by the Lakato Family now, the entire clan might face absolute ruin.
After coughing a few times, Victor sat up.
"No more talk, everything has come to this point. Immediately notify all of William's family to cease all internal strife, and from now on, focus solely on external affairs."
The elders did not say anything more, and immediately made phone calls, but more than half of the calls they made went unanswered.
If the Lakato Family had chosen to deal with them, they would surely have already bribed members within the family.
Up until now, the only family members Victor could truly rally were likely just the few elders present.
Just as they were speaking, sudden urgent horn sounds erupted from the castle's perimeter.
Victor frowned helplessly and got out of bed.
In the open space outside the castle, there was a golf course that used to be where William's family entertained distinguished guests. But now, due to lack of care, it was overgrown with weeds.
A somewhat tall middle-aged man, cigar in mouth, trod over the lawn looking around.
"I had long heard that William's family was descended from European royalty, and their ancient castle truly lives up to its reputation. Seeing it today confirms this, but such a building is wasted in the hands of such people."
The man's voice was deliberately loud, as if to ensure the William's family members following him heard him clearly.
Katherine, in charge of reception, had already clenched the dagger at her waist.
"Mr. Ino, it's been quite some time since we've seen each other, hasn't it?"
Victor greeted warmly as he hurried over with his cane, but before he could reach him, he stumbled.
Had it not been for the person beside him, he might have fallen to the ground.
Ino laughed out loud with contempt as he approached, casually tossing his cigar on the ground.
"Mr. Victor, you're already so old, still worrying about William's family affairs, if I were you, I'd retire and hand over William's family to me. I'd manage it, give you some shares annually, and that would be enough."
Victor's breathing became labored immediately; he had not expected Ino to be so shameless.
After all, William's family had once been royal, and even were masters of the Lakato Family.
Centuries ago, the Lakato Family would have had to bow and pay respects upon seeing William's family.
Unexpectedly, now there had been such a drastic turn, and William's family had to watch the faces of the Lakato Family in their actions.
What do you think?
