Apocalypse - Evil Shelter System

Chapter 383 Bell

Alex exhaled a long breath, "We've never met before, so why must you pursue me so relentlessly?"

"True, we have no connection, but we are enemies," Holly responded coldly. "We want you, not the ordinary citizens."

Alex asked, "Who hired you?"

"Find out in hell," Holly replied without hesitation, waving her right hand.

More than twenty experts emerged from the surroundings, advancing on Alex and drawing their katanas, ready to kill.

"Bang!" Before they could rush forward, a large figure blocked their path.

A bald man, dressed in a black tracksuit and wielding an axe, stood in front of Alex. Flanking him were two companions, holding iron rods and daggers, glaring at the encroaching experts.

Seeing the bald man and his companions appear, Alex's eyelid twitched, and he couldn't help but shout, "Why did you come in? Didn't I send you out on a task?"

"This place is dangerous. You need to take them and leave," he anxiously cried out. "I'll hold them off."

Alex was worried that the bald man and his companions would get hurt.

The bald man grinned, "Alex, don't worry, we won't cause you any trouble. Besides, we're here to protect you. How could we leave you behind and run?"

"If we're going to die, we'll die together!" the bald man declared resolutely.

"Damn it!" Alex felt both helpless and gratified by his loyal comrades. He glanced around and saw only five or six injured mutants, which reassured him somewhat—they could at least hold out for a while.

He surveyed the surroundings, "Is there any other exit?"

"No!"

"When I was escaping earlier, I heard them say that unless we dig our way out or jump from above, there's no way out of this warehouse," the bald man chuckled. "So today, we've walked into a trap."

"I'll cover your retreat!" he shouted, raising his axe and charging at four enemies.

Four enemies immediately pressed in on the bald man.

"Clang!" At that moment, a pebble flew from afar, accurately striking an enemy's knee.

"Bang!" With a loud crash, the enemy fell to the ground, his legs shattering instantly, blood splattering everywhere.

"Thud, thud, thud!" Three more pebbles followed, striking their targets. Two more enemies fell to the ground with muffled groans, clutching their chests, unable to rise.

Seeing this, the bald man and another companion halted, turning to bombard the direction the pebbles came from.

"Clang, clang, clang!" A series of dull collisions rang out, followed by a playful, soft laugh.

Alex looked in the direction of the sound and saw Bell, dressed in red, walking gracefully towards them. She held a handful of silver needles, smiling charmingly, with an allure that was hard to resist.

Alex almost had a nosebleed from the sight. He never expected Bell to join the fight. Quickly regaining his composure, he grabbed Bell's arm and urgently whispered:

"Run! These people are too strong; you can't handle them! Run!"

Although Alex and Bell hadn't known each other long and weren't particularly close, Alex instinctively believed Bell would help him escape.

"Don't worry, together we can defeat them," Bell replied with a gentle smile. She flicked her wrist, sending seven or eight silver needles flying.

"Thud!" Two of the enemies convulsed and fell, screaming, clutching their throats and twitching on the ground.Nôv(el)B\\jnn

The bald man winced in pain as two needles struck his arm, sapping much of his strength.

The remaining enemies narrowed their eyes and charged at them together.

Alex pulled Bell back, dodging swiftly. "Run!"

"Whoosh, whoosh, whoosh!" Bell unhesitatingly flung silver needles, striking several attacking enemies in the forehead.

"Thud!" One by one, the enemies fell to the ground with agonized screams, eyes wide open as their life force extinguished.

The bald man sighed in relief upon seeing this.

"Whoosh!" Taking advantage of the bald man's brief respite, Bell moved swiftly behind him and struck his spine with a punch.

A sharp crack sounded as his nerves were severed. The bald man groaned, losing balance and falling forward.

Bell seized the opportunity, kicking him in the back, sending him rolling like a cannonball.

Alex rushed to help him up. "Are you okay?"

"I'm fine!" The bald man shook his head, gritting his teeth as he tried to rise to a crouch. "I can hold on..."

Before he could finish, he spat out a mouthful of blood and passed out, his eyes closing.

"Damn it!" Alex cursed under his breath. He hoisted the bald man onto his shoulder and continued evading the enemy's assault.

"Whoosh, whoosh, whoosh!" Bell, no longer using poison, took down a dozen more enemies with her silver needles.

Her face remained calm as she stood in the corner, but her eyes revealed a hint of concern. Alex could feel it too; the enemies were fiercer and more ruthless than the night before, as if they had taken some drug.

Alex realized that today's battle might be a fight to the death.

"Not bad, kid," a cold woman's voice echoed through the warehouse.

"I should capture you alive and study you thoroughly. But unfortunately, not only will you die today, but your body will also be obliterated."

"Because there are a hundred mutated corpses lying in ambush here, enough to send you and Bell to hell together."

As she spoke, two more mutants appeared, howling in pain as they rushed at Alex and Bell.

Bell raised her hand, shooting them down with two arrows. But before she could catch her breath, another wave of enemies charged at them.

Gritting her teeth, Bell prepared to fight.

"Whoosh!"

She swung her dagger, swiftly killing the two enemies who lunged at her first. But before she could retract the blade, a flying dart whizzed by, slicing her left index finger deeply.

Blood spurted out.

Bell winced in pain but took a step back, then stomped her right foot forcefully.

"Crack!"

A brick beneath her foot shattered into powder, scattering on the ground.

"Whoosh!"

Taking advantage of the enemy's momentary hesitation, Bell surged forward, slashing at the nearest enemy's neck.

Her movements were swift and fluid, like flowing water, and as graceful as a deer leaping onto a cliff.

The enemy realized the attack, roaring in anger as he raised his military dagger to block.

"Clang!"

The two weapons clashed, sparks flying.

The enemy felt a numbing shock in his hand, his body shuddering.

Instinctively, he took a step back.

Bell took advantage of the moment to retreat and picked up a short sword.

"Kill!" Bell shouted, her movements suddenly accelerating as she charged towards the enemy with the short sword.

"Whoosh!" As her body leapt forward, Bell's wrist flicked.

A flash of cold light sliced through the air.

"Ahhh!" The ambushed enemy screamed as blood flowers bloomed on his body, then he was hurled against the wall and crashed to the floor.

His face filled with astonishment, he tried to struggle to his feet but found his body limp and powerless.

"Bang, bang, bang!" Bell didn't waste the opportunity. With a swift left-handed move, she knocked down five more enemies.

Looking at the fallen enemies, Bell spoke coldly, "You shouldn't have provoked me."

"Who are you?" a black-clad elder coughed and asked, "Why are you so ruthless?"

"I am Bell," Bell replied, discarding the short sword. "Alex and I are husband and wife. We love each other deeply."

Upon hearing Bell's introduction, dozens of people spread out with a clatter, assuming a defensive stance as they eyed Bell warily.

Clearly, they had heard of Bell. However, none could believe that Bell could single-handedly challenge a hundred of them. It defied the abilities of a normal human.

Moreover, injuring both the Third and Second Elders shattered their understanding of reality.

The black-clad elder struggled to say, "Blood Dragon Court is not a place for you to run wild. Surrender immediately..."

"Bang!" Bell, not in the mood for words, lunged forward with a whip kick.

With a dull thud, the black-clad elder, along with his weapon, was sent flying, crashing into a table and chair, and then slamming to the floor.

The black-clad elder coughed up a mouthful of blood and fainted.

"Let's go!" Bell called out to Alex after dealing with the elder.

Alex immediately picked up the bald man and began to retreat. Although Bell could easily clear a path, he knew that their time was running short. If they were pursued or intercepted by experts, they would be in serious trouble.

Fortunately, the Blood Dragon Court had already been sealed off, and Alex and his companions quickly disappeared from view.

"Damn it! How dare they run?" In a hidden spot, several gray-robed men, who had just witnessed Bell sweeping through their comrades, couldn't hide their shock. They never imagined Bell was this powerful.

A leader among them growled, "Chase! We can't let her escape!" He led seven or eight elite members in pursuit.

After chasing for only about ten meters, they approached a patch of grass. The area was messy, with a faint scent of blood in the air.

The leader frowned slightly, then waved his hand, "Dig it up and check!"

Six of his companions immediately set to work, drawing their knives and digging. Soon, a human skeleton emerged.

"Ah!" The six men gasped in unison, their faces turning pale with fear. They hadn't expected to find a skeleton hidden in the grass, especially one that appeared to belong to an older person. It was deeply unsettling.

"What is this?" The leader reached out with a trembling hand to touch the bones, recoiling at the sour stench.

"Don't touch it!" he shouted. "This is a high-ranking guardian. His status was noble and he was revered in the Martial Alliance, yet he died mysteriously here. They'll launch a thorough investigation."

His eyes sharpened, "If they find out we uncovered this, none of us will survive!"

The others nodded in agreement, their faces still stunned. They noticed a bullet hole in the heart area of the skeleton. They speculated that Bell had killed him, but where had Bell gotten a gun? And how had she infiltrated so silently?
