Chapter 407: Coming Soon (7)
Chapter 407: Coming Soon (7)
As everyone focused their attention on him, Gamagin solemnly began to speak.
"I want to take him with us."
Although Rin and Sharon cared about Geon more than anyone, they did not oppose since becoming an angel meant they could be with him forever.
However, Pyemon and Gusion felt differently. Gusion, who had been quietly pondering and watching Gamagin, glanced at Pyemon and spoke with a furious expression.
"Isn’t that too selfish?"
"Hm? Selfish... What do you mean?"
Gusion smiled, offering a coffee cup while looking at Geon, who stood still.
"The child has his own life. From his childhood to now, you've pushed him to pursue music, gaining spiritual power from it, nearing your goals unlike His Excellency. But the child is just about to bloom. What will happen to the rest of his life if you turn him into an angel? And, how do you intend to handle the grief of the humans left behind him?"
Gamagin's expression changed slightly. It was different from what he had thought—rewarding the child with the status of an angel or a lower deity as a form of gratitude.
Gamagin stared intently at Gusion. Normally, Gusion wouldn’t dare meet his gaze, but this time, he bravely stared back at Gamagin."What do you think, Pyemon?"
After organizing his thoughts with a grave expression, Pyemon spoke.
"Gusion’s point is valid. The child is human, and humans have the right to live their lives. We brought him against his will, endowed him with powers, and compelled him to pursue music. It's become what he wants more than anything now, but whether it's truly his choice or ours is unclear."
Pyemon took a breath before continuing.
"A human’s life is made of continuous choices. It’s true that he helped many people because of his good nature, but whether he chose to pursue music himself is honestly questionable.
If we were purely demonic, we could easily dismiss the trivial concerns of a human heart. But, you, sir, wish to become an angel, don’t you? It seems a poor choice to use him for your ends without considering his will."
As even Pyemon, who usually blindly executed Gamagin's orders, voiced opposition, Gamagin turned to look at Rin and Sharon.n/ô/vel/b//jn dot c//om
"What do you two think? Do you really believe it's right for him to spend the rest of his life as a human rather than becoming an angel or a lesser deity? Think about the child's future before you speak."
Sharon seemed to ponder, slightly bowing her head, but Rin spoke immediately.
"The power he possesses is too great for him to be left alone in a human world. Depending on what he decides, he could plunge the human world into unprecedented chaos. Perhaps you intend to take him because of this concern."
Gamagin slowly nodded.
"Right. His nature is kind, and he would not make such a choice himself, but there’s no guarantee that other demons will leave him be, and soon there will be no need to watch for my reactions either."
Rin looked into his eyes quietly and said.
"I am here, and so is Lord Remiel. Also, Lord Pyemon, Lord Gusion, and Lord Amdusias are here. Even if you become an angel, couldn’t you still watch over the child?"
Gamagin looked at Rin, seemingly surprised by her answer.
"Until now, you have watched over the child to monitor my actions and to prevent any deviations, but from now on, you truly intend to look after his life by staying close to him? Are you willing to make such a sacrifice?"
Rin looked at Sharon, who had been lost in thought. Seeing Sharon slowly raise her head and nod slightly with Rin, Rin smiled and said.
"It feels like he is not just a human we were meant to watch over, but rather like our own beloved child. Even though a human’s life is but a moment to us angels and demons who live eternally, watching over his life in the human world seems like the right choice."
Gamagin looked back and forth between Rin and Sharon.
"Is this Michael’s idea?"
When Rin and Sharon both shook their heads, Gamagin sighed and stood up.
"It seems I need to discuss this with Michael to make a decision. Could you connect me?"
Rin closed her eyes, and several white butterflies appeared around her, fluttering about. After communicating with the butterflies, Rin opened her eyes.
"It’s difficult right now. Too many demons are watching the human world. I’ll arrange a private meeting with Lord Michael later."
Gamagin glanced at Geon, who stood still, and gently patted his shoulder.
"Understood. I’ll leave now. My spiritual power is surging, making it hard to stay away for long. Please take good care of the child until I make a decision.
Gusion, Pyemon, Amdusias, join us too."
Gusion, still dissatisfied that Gamagin was pondering such matters, nodded simply as it was unusual for a ruler controlling a large part of Hell to listen to others and delay decisions.
Pyemon presented a blue gift box and a CD, saying,
"The child asked me to give this to you."
Gamagin frowned as if puzzled, opened the CD, and read the inscription inside, then looked up surprised. Pyemon grinned and said,
"It seems he knew something. It meant that if I have someone dear, I should give it to them."
After tasting his lips, Gamagin chuckled and then looked at the CD player inside the blue box.
Having already inserted batteries, the CD player powered on. Gamagin put the album CD in, brought the earphones to his ears, nodded to the assembly, and disappeared in a puff of black smoke.
Moments after Gamagin vanished, Geon casually held out his coffee, smiling.
"Director Rin? One sugar, right? Hehe, I prepared it just the way you like."
Rin grinned and took the coffee.
"Thank you, it’s been a while since I had coffee made by you, Geon. Or should I say, it’s an honor now? Hoho."
Geon vehemently shook his head as if that was preposterous.
"Honor? I could make coffee for you for a lifetime, Director Rin. And the same goes for Professor Sharon."
After handing Sharon her coffee, Geon sat on the sofa and looked around at the gathered crowd, laughing.
"I didn’t realize I had so many precious people around me. It feels kind of heartwarming."
The eyes of the four looking at Geon swirled with warmth. One by one, they met his gaze, sharing their gratitude, when the ringing of the intercom interrupted them. Geon picked up the receiver.
"Yes, this is Kay. Oh? Ah, yes! Please send them up!"
Geon’s face lit up at the news, and he ran towards the automatic door, shouting.
"Carlos and Rob, Mission, Philip, Rex, Vinnie are all here! Hehehe!!!"
Shortly after, Geon’s room, now too small for the sofa, required additional chairs to accommodate everyone.
As the evening approached, more people like Snoop, Neminem, and Dr. Dre joined, and a lively party ensued. A tipsy Geon raised his glass and shouted.
"Thank you all for coming to celebrate, I’m so lucky to have friends like you, and I’m very happy!"
Snoop half-lay on the sofa, lifting his glass with a chuckle.
"It’s too early to celebrate, the album's performance hasn’t even been released yet. We'll have to party again once the results are in, and I'll bring the West Coast and East Coast guys along."
Neminem bit a beer can with his teeth and turned his head.
"East? You think there’ll be a shootout here?"
Snoop waved his hand dismissively.
"Nah, those guys don’t fight anymore. Plus, it's a gathering to introduce them to Kay, they'll come running even if I say to leave their guns at home. Kekeke."
Philip stroked his slightly grown buzz cut and said,
"Metallica guys also said they want to see you. I’ll arrange something, okay?"
Geon smiled as if it were a matter of course.
"Of course, I’d like to ask them too."
Manson interjected,
"Limp Bizkit and Linkin Park guys also said they wanted to have dinner, maybe we should all meet together?"
Philip pointed a finger at Manson and smiled.
"That’s a good idea, let's do that."
Johnny Lip, wanting to join in, wiggled his hips. Being a rock enthusiast as well as an actor, the musicians mentioned were like heroes to him.
Geon noticed his reaction and laughed.
"Johnny should come too, they’ll probably ask for his autograph instead, haha."
Johnny beamed with delight.
"Oh, really? Then thank you, hahaha!"
Johnny turned to Tim Curtain sitting beside him, wanting to boast, but suddenly asked with a puzzled expression.
"Director Tim? What’s with the face?"
As everyone turned to look at him, Tim Curtain continuously scowled as if something displeased him, then spoke with a frustrated tone.
"Damn investor should have reviewed the documents faster. I could have made a movie with Kay as the lead around this time last year. Now, after his official album release, even directors like me won’t be able to afford him, and his guarantees are astronomical... Ah, I guess I should cancel my plans to capture him on film."
At Tim Curtain’s words, everyone burst into laughter.
As they enjoyed drinks and snacks, talking about past events, many people gradually gathered around Geon as the evening wore on.
Sitting on the
windowsill, Geon toasted and chatted with the newcomers. As everyone moved closer to him, he swept his gaze across the assembly. Snap, looking down at him, said,
"In a few days, it really begins."
Geon smiled with his eyes and raised his glass.
"That it does."
Neminem leaned forward and said,
"Let’s really go for it."
Geon looked towards Rin and spoke,
"Director Rin and Byungjoon will handle it."
Everyone turned towards Rin, and a confident smile appeared on her face for the first time in a while.
"Leave it to me."
