Fallen Fate Online

Chapter 79 First Blood

The shadows hid most of the Orc Leader's massive body, but the light from the bursts of lava in the lake revealed the appearance of the most dangerous creature in this Dungeon.

The Orc Leader's muscular body inspired fear as well as his calm but deep eyes. Unlike the others, Orc Leader's skin was red instead of green, and he had many tattoos of ancient symbols on his body.

In his hands Orc Leader had a massive cleaver which he ground with a sharp flint, moving swiftly and precisely, cutting off sparks from the metal.

"Damn... He looks really menacing." Rea muttered with a shiver that went through her body.

"Commander, what are we going to do?" Elin asked, maintaining her seriousness, "Obviously this is the last room, and this is their leader. There's no point in us hiding anymore."

Roland rubbed his chin thoughtfully before answering, "Well, you're right, but we shouldn't rush. Looks like their leader is getting ready for something, maybe they know that someone will try to stop them." Roland looked towards the passage, "I have a plan. Get ready, it's about to start."

...

After a while Orc-Mage returned to the main hall, dragging several piles of coal behind him. Just as Orc-Mage and the guards passed through the passageway, the shadow of two broad wings fell upon them, and the next moment a scarlet flash passed before them.

Crackle.

pαndα,noνɐ1,сoМ The head of the Orc-Mage flew to the side as wide cuts appeared on the guards' chests.

'Shit! I screwed up!' Zayne exclaimed inwardly, as the different heights of his opponents made it impossible for him to strip their heads all at once.

The Guards quickly recovered from their shock and were about to shout, but as soon as they opened their mouths two massive palms fell on their faces.

"Guys... I can't have you exposing us ahead of time, or my team will be in trouble." Geir calmly said before knocking the Orcs' heads together, causing them to pass out.

[You got 50 EXP for killing an Orc-Mage!]

Zayne smiled slightly looking at the rather large reward, as it was easy for him to do.

'Hmm... I got more experience for one Mage than that One-Eyed Monster in the Flower Caves... I wonder what level they are? That's usually what the rewards in games depend on, right?' Zayne pondered staring at the already dead Orc-Mage.

They tried to be quiet, but Orc-Mages as well as Orc Leader only needed a few seconds to notice what happened to their fellows. However, Roland was ready for it, and that was part of his plan.

"Fire!" Roland exclaimed, and at the same moment, Elin and Rea got down to the action.

Elin quickly launched an arrow at one Orc-Mage, piercing its head and emptying its gaze forever. Rea, in turn, fired several energy projectiles that rained down on the other Orc-Mage, leaving horrible burns on its chest, incompatible with life.

"Raaaaakaraa!!!" The three remaining Orc-Mages roared furiously and thumped their staffs on the ground, pointing their blue, energetic hands directly at them.

"Take cover!" Roland exclaimed, and everyone quickly hid behind a stone pillar that absorbed all the damage, then Roland signaled Geir.

"Got it!" Geir nodded, raised his heavy shield, and from all his might hit it on the already damaged pillar.

Whooooooooooooooosh.

Zayne, along with Roland, pounded on the pillar from the other side, reversing its direction and causing it to fall right in front of Geir, who had already freed his arms.

"Alright, Elin, Rea, back us up!" Roland exclaimed, and the three of them grabbed onto the pillar, struggling to lift almost a ton of stone.

"ROOOOAAAAAAAARRRRRRR!!!" Orc-Leader roared furiously, giving the command to his subordinates to attack. His roar, echoed throughout the Dungeon, summoning the aid of the hundreds of Orcs that were in the outpost.

At the same moment, several blue hands headed toward Zayne, Roland, and Geir, but as they got a little closer, the purple energy rays knocked them down. Rea managed to take down more than ten hands in a short period, but it didn't go unnoticed.

Crackle.

Rea fell to the ground with an exhausted look, then her ring glowed brightly, and a vial of blue liquid appeared in her hand which she immediately began to drink.

"Quick!" Roland exclaimed, stepping forward uneasily, "Just a little more!"

"AAAAGH!!!" Geir exclaimed, in a moment lifting the column higher and throwing it sharply right into the aisle, completely closing it.

Tremble. Tremble. Tremble.

A violent shudder went through the entire area as if an earthquake had struck, as small stones sprinkled from above, along with dust.

"We... did... it..." Geir muttered, wiping the sweat from his forehead and leaning on the pillar to rest.

"Well, well, looks like we carried out the plan without any problems." Roland grinned, dusting off his palms, "Now all we have to do is deal with these guys, and the mission will be successfully accomplished."

Step. Step. Step.

The Orc Leader walked slowly in their direction, along with the three Orc-Mages who followed him, holding tightly to their staffs.

Upon reaching the slope, the Orc Leader stopped and stared intently at Roland, then at Zayne, who faced his gaze without fear.

"Paaahaaaaaraa...." The Orc Leader muttered something as he took a deep breath letting out a cloud of steam that blew past his broad shoulders.

The Orc Leader pointed his massive cleaver at them, and his pupils narrowed as the two marks on his shoulders flashed bright red flames.

[Orc Tribal Leader of the Lava Lake, Flaming Turgan, Challenged You!]

[Turgan's aura spreads, making his opponents weaker! All stats are lowered by 15%! Everyone who falls under Turgan's gaze will have their defense halved!]

At the same moment, Roland, Elin, Rea, and Geir flinched as they felt weaker than usual, they could not resist Turgan's aura.

"Pahahafa." Turgan smirked with anticipation as he looked at his opponents, who shuddered at the coming battle.

However, as Turgan's gaze shifted to the right of Roland's, his eyes went wide in disbelief at what was happening.

"How exciting." Zayne whispered with a slight smile on his face as the Three-Eyed Whistle appeared in his hands, releasing the powerful smell of blood from the scarlet blade.

Step.

Zayne stepped forward, "Looks like you're used to controlling others with fear, right? I admit you look menacing, even dangerous, but I've already met someone who made even my soul feel fear. A mountain of muscle like you can't stop me."

Turgan's face instantly changed as he became much more serious since he now understood that this fight would not be easy and his enemies had come here with a real opportunity to crush him.

"Good speech, Zayne." Roland said confidently, putting his palm on Zayne's shoulder, "This big guy may have caught me off guard, but none of us are going to back down, are we?"

"Yeah... I'm ready to attack now, just give me a chance." Elin said calmly, drawing an arrow on the bowstring and aiming at one of the Orc-Mages.

Geir raised his shield, stood next to them, and looked at Rea, "Looks like you need some time to recover, right?"

Rea just nodded, her mana reserves were severely depleted.

"Alright, in that case, I'll give you that opportunity!" Geir exclaimed, slamming his shield on the ground, and a yellow glint appeared in his eyes.
