Old Madam Murong originally wanted to evoke Yu Dong's sympathy, however the latter was simply unbothered. It was as if she did not care whether Murong Si lived or died!

"How...How could you say that? If my son dies wouldn't your reputation take a hit, Madam Yu?" Old Madam Murong did not believe that Yu Dong would be willing to take such a risk. After all, she was the owner of the Big River Village and she was also the owner of the Mall at the town including the Mer Bar.

If the news of her watching the death of a mer was to spread all over the town then Yu Dong's business would definitely suffer!

After all, the higher one climbed the more, they had to care about falling, while those who were at the bottom could do anything that they wanted, at least this was what Old Madam Murong believed.

So the one who has the majority of fault here, it's you, Old Madam Murong."

"Secondly, I am not refusing to accept your son. Even though this engagement was something that came out of the blue, we are willing to let your son marry into our family. The only thing that has changed is the position, and even though this engagement is practically shoved down our throats, I am willing to give your son the secondary husband's position."

"Lastly, this marriage is taking place even though we have not received even a single betrothal gift. This is something that you will never be able to get in some other family."

Yu Dong leaned back on the couch and then questioned Old Madam Murong, "Do you still think that you are losing out? If that is the case then you can always deal with this matter how you like. I will not stop you."

Old Madam Murong was stunned when she saw that Yu Dong was indeed not afraid of Murong Si's death. In fact, she looked like she couldn't be bothered to deal with his death even if he was killed.

This was completely different from what she imagined! Old Madam Murong thought that as long as she was to tell Yu Dong that Murong Si would be killed if the engagement was broken she would change her mind. But she was simply unbothered!

She looked at Yu Dong who remained unaffected from start to finish and could not help but question, "Don't you think that you are being too heartless, Madam Yu?"

"I am not," Yu Dong smirked as she leaned her face on her knuckles. "Instead I think that I am being very generous, you might be thinking that I am ruthless because I don't care about your son's life and death but when you yourself do not care about it, why should I?"

"Murong Si is not related to me in any way, in fact, I have never even seen him. So, why should I be bothered if he is killed? The ones who should be worried about this scenario should be you two right?"

Old Madam Murong and Murong Tai were speechless, however they couldn't refute Yu Dong. What she said was indeed right, she did not know who Murong Si was and had never met him, even if he died why would Yu Dong grieve?

"I never thought you were this hard-hearted," Murong Tai remarked bitterly from the side and Yu Dong only chuckled.

"I am sorry to disappoint you two but I have a very small heart, I hardly care about any other mer other than my husbands," Yu Dong stated with a light voice but she was telling the two women indirectly to shelve their plans to use Murong Si to make her give into their whims.

As both, Murong Tai and Old Madam Murong understood what Yu Dong meant, they couldn't help but be disappointed. In fact if not for the fact that Yu Dong could only take bed slaves now, they would have targeted her instead of Yu Tong.

However, something was better than nothing. As long as they were related to Yu Dong, she would still help them a little if they were to get into trouble, right?

Of course, Yu Dong knew what they were thinking but she did not say anything to them nor did she correct them, she was afraid that if the two women were pushed too much they would end up throwing Murong Si in the forest as soon as they returned home.

Anyway, if the favour was not too big she did not mind doing it for the Murong family.

"Then can Madam Yu at least provide us the guarantee that in case my son was to give birth to a daughter or a son, he or she would be the heir of the family?" Old Madam Murong questioned Yu Dong who pursed her lips.

She then said, "I will not say anything about this, my family doesn't follow the oldest daughter or son's heir policy. The one who proves to be the most capable will be the one who will be chosen as the heir. The same goes for my children as well. However, I can assure you that in case the daughter of Lin Hanjing will not be the heir."

Only then did Old Madam Murong heave a sigh of relief, as long as that bastard was not the heir everything else could be discussed!

She then looked at Yu Dong and said, "I am willing to accept the change of position but I would like to make a request."
