Chapter 1084: Chapter 1084: The Key

The page itself had turned red in the man's blood. Looking at the mark on the page, Karyk could feel that he had probably written it while his hand was covered in blood.

"If he died that day, then what happened to Aether? Did the clans take it? No, if they had taken

it, why would the Angels be trying to find the key to enter this world?"

Reading the diary, Karyk had understood why the Angels were after him, and why the

battlefield where he appeared was different from what he had heard.

This world was divided in two parts. The outer part was where the heirs of the clans came to train and kill the beasts of this world.

Although the beasts were strong, but they weren't Aetherians. They were beasts born in this world with only a slight trace of abyss.

That's why tokens made from their bodies could only lead a person to the outer realm. To enter the inner realm, they needed an Aetherian, which he had believed to be an abyssal being.

"So the reason those beasts didn't attack me is because they thought I was one of them. They are Aetherians, but I am the same. I am also an Aetherian in a way."

Karyk closed the diary as everything started to make sense.

"When I was the abyss, did I devour an Aetherian to gain the trait? But that alone wouldn't have been enough, as I was still not a proper living entity. The angels wanted me to evolve into a living being so they could use me as the key?"

"They can't enter this place and the Aetherians probably won't leave this place. So they could only take roundabout routes."

"Is that why I felt sadness for him? Even if I had no relationship with him, I had devoured an Aetherian and gained their traits and memories that were erased during my evolution?"

"Since the clans are still looking for Aether, it means they haven't taken it from this world. So where is it?"

He thought Aether should've been near the person. He was so obsessed with Aether that even in death, he should've kept it close. Unless he hid it before dying.

Karyk kept the diary in his spatial storage and picked up the ring. He thought that it might be a storage ring but even after observing it carefully, he found nothing extraordinary in it.

It wasn't a spatial ring. It was an ordinary ring made from some weak metal that could be crushed easily by him.

"His clothes were artifacts. Even his diary was an artifact, so why did he keep such an ordinary ring? Did it have some sentimental value to him?"

Karyk wasn't sure what was the meaning of this ring. It didn't even have the essence of an abyss that could be felt by him. It was truly a mediocre ring.

"He said that Aether would be completed on its own after his death. But he didn't say how long it would take. If it hasn't been completed, maybe I can..." Karyk thought, but he didn't finish his sentence.

He stood up and thought about searching the entire corpse of the Angel to find Aether. However, as he tried to walk away from the person, the same sense of sadness gripped his body.

He rubbed his forehead, feeling frustrated.

"Sigh, that's why one shouldn't eat everything that comes their way. The Aetherian information in my blood feels connected to him. It seems as if it won't let me go like this. Should I give him a proper burial?"

He returned to the person and picked him up in his arms.

He took the man's body out of the Angel's Corpse. The person treated the Aetherians as his child. Karyk thought that it was better to bury this person amongst his people.

"I don't know if you follow the same rituals as us humans. Even though you are the same species, it might be completely different. I hope you won't mind if I follow our rituals."

Karyk landed in the deserted land outside the Dragon's Corpse where a portal was present in the distance as if waiting for him.

"Were they expecting me to return?" He didn't understand what these Aetherians were thinking, but he entered the portal and returned to the forest.n/ô/vel/b//in dot c//om

Karyk appeared inside the forest. As soon as his feet landed on the soft grass, he found himself at a loss of words.

He looked around him and noticed thousands of Aetherian Beasts that had surrounded him from every side. The portal behind him also closed at the same time, not even letting him step back.

"Are you upset that I am bringing him here?" Karyk asked the beasts, realizing that they were intelligent beings.

If they were the Aetherians mentioned in the book, then they were far from normal.

Karyk searched through the crowd and found the beast that had led him previously.

"Are you not going to return to the human form?" he asked the beast who was silent for quite some time.

The beast howled at the sky. The other beasts also did the same as their bodies started transforming into humanoid form.

Although Karyk had read about this trait of Aetherians, watching it happened right before him was truly a new experience.

The thousands of beasts had turned into thousands of humans, each having a dense abyssal energy which was called Aether's Essence in this world.

"Did you enjoy messing with me before?" Karyk asked the leader of the group.

When he first came here, he had truly thought that he was trying to talk to a beast. If he knew better, he could've had more information about this world.

"If you can turn, why can't we?" The bare chested silver haired man asked Karyk. All of them were the same so why couldn't they turn when he could?

He didn't know that Karyk wasn't an Aetherian Beast who had learned to return to his human

form.
