Chapter 408 I. A.M. H.E.R.E
408 I. A.M. H.E.R.E
"!!!" "!!!"
Upon seeing their caretaker's cold, sadistic smile, the Black Qilin Horses felt every single one of their hairs stand on end.
"Neigh! Neigh!!"
While amid the taxing process of 'taking care' of the Black Qilin Horses, a sudden visitor appeared in the area right outside the Royal Castle's front doors. Moreover, it was someone with very close relations to the recently deceased Immortal General Razkar. Coincidentally, this person also just so happened to be an Immortal General of the Azureflask Empire, and was known as none other than Drenekor, the Undying Blade!
A man said to stand atop a mountain of a billion immortal corpses! A man so powerful and imposing that even recently ascended Grade 9 Immortal Emperors were struck dumb in fear! This very man had returned from the battlefield, bringing with him news of his victories against the Nytherion Empire!
"Open up for the Immortal General!" A guard shouted from above the front gate castle walls, his voice reaching all corners of the Royal Castle. A few seconds later, the gates were opened up, and a few royal escorts emerged from within the castle wall. They warmly greeted and welcomed Immortal General Drenekor into the castle, then motioned for the vigilant wall guards to close the castle walls.
From a corner of the massive castle territory, Azmodeus saw this go down. He sat on top of his royal steed, Rudolph, curious as to why someone like the illustrious and battle-driven Immortal General Drenekor had returned to the capital, and more importantly, to the Royal Castle. What exactly was he up to? To leave the border without throwing the entire Empire into an uproar — just what was going through his head?
As his thoughts stirred, the Immortal General entered through the inner gates of the castle, quickly making his way toward the throne room. Upon opening the doors to that very throne room, he was welcomed with the sight of the muscular Emperor sitting on his throne, looking down at him with clear interest.
The Emperor had a large scar across his left cheek, a chiseled face that fully showed off all the years he spent on the battlefield, fighting for his Empire and the Eternal Jade Sect. His stance was terrifying, and his overall demeanor was imposing, and for once, he looked like someone who truly worked his way from the ground up in order to obtain the bedazzled crown atop his head and the throne he sat on.
"I greet your Majesty, the sixteenth Emperor of the Azureflask Empire, Emperor Omon!" Drenekor shouted passionately as he fell to the ground with his fist, causing a resounding thud to echo out.
Emperor Omon visibly sighed. "I already told you to drop the formalities when it's just the two of us," he said, waving his hand to get Drenekor off the floor.
Following this command, Drenekor got up off the ground and awkwardly scratched his neck. "As much as you tell me that, above all else, I am an Immortal General of this Empire, and as such, I must set an example," he said, his tone suddenly turning weary. "And I'm sure you're aware that any number of people could be watching in on this conversation right now, my Lord." His eyes cautiously scanned the lavish throne room, not willing to let down his guard at any given moment. Nôv(el)B\\jnn
OOOM!
Suddenly, Emperor Omon's aura erupted in immense ferocity as his face contorted in rage. "Someone would actually dare to do such a thing in my presence!? Are they courting death!? Who would actually have the unbreakable steel balls to act like that when I. AM. HERE!!!"
RUMBLE!!!
The Emperor's battle-hardened temper got the better of him as his extremely powerful regal aura nearly overwhelmed everything within thousands of miles. But before it could, Immortal General Drenekor yelled, "You must calm yourself, old friend. I was just speaking in what-ifs. In reality, the likelihood of someone spying in on this conversation is extremely low, but one can never be too careful."
Emperor Omon's aura relaxed a lot after listening to what his old friend said. Eventually, it returned to the tranquil way it was before, which then turned into him leaning his chin against his fist. His gaze hardened as his tone turned serious. "So, have you come to inform me of our efforts into getting past the Lands Unknown? The members of the Eternal Jade Sect are becoming rather impatient when it comes to sending out more of their Immortal Transcendents."
A positive response came the Emperor's way as Immortal General Drenekor said, "It is as you predicted. After thorough battling against the Nytherion Empire, I acquisitioned multiple scriptures that spoke of secret passageways in the Lands Unknown, all of which could safely transport one through the dangerous territory and into the Immortal Funnel." He lowered his head and curtly bowed as soon as he announced this, waiting for the Emperor to give his council.
After a few seconds had passed, Emperor Omon opened up his mouth, saying, "This is good news. You did good, Drenekor, and I will be reporting this to the only two active disciples of the Eternal Jade Sect."
"Ahh, yes, I always seem to forget that the Eternal Jade Sect only ever has two active disciples in the same generation. Whereas the rest of the Sect members are from past generations, typically in the Immortal Transcendent Realm, as that is the minimum requirement to ascend your status as an active disciple."
Drenekor gave his input on the matter. To which the Emperor added on by saying, "Yes, that has always been the case, and there's even a weird phenomenon that is produced by the secret arts they practice, which makes it so their cultivation progresses at virtually the same rate. As such, every generation of duo disciples become disciples at the same time, and also leave their status as disciples at the same time."
"Indeed… It is unusual, but in the end, they always produce absolute monsters. Just look at Fang Ju and Ling Chao, both at the very peak of the Grade 9 Immortal God Realm, only a step away from achieving the Immortal Transcendent Realm…"
