Infinite Potential System

William felt his blood boil somewhat when the System explained the situation to him. Thinking about how many reckless activities he engaged in previously, William realized that he was almost always placing the System's life at risk.

It was weird to think, that such a powerful being could be at the mercy of a weak human like himself, but it also tacked on a bit of responsibility to William's shoulders.

I'm not just fighting for myself, I'm fighting for the System, Efretta, and even the citizens of Reius. How long has it been this way? How long have I been treating this like a game when it's much much more than that.

This just proves that no matter how strong someone is, there's always a weakness. There's always someone stronger. Nine other Hosts were captured or killed before me, which implies that even the System won't be able to protect me forever.

Have I prepared enough? William doubted himself for a second. He wondered if he should just avoid Ascending forever and remain on Efretta's Prison after releasing her.

-My Third Host spent his entire life in the Mortal Realms, and he could have Ascended thousands of years before his death. Don't assume that this place is untouchable, their inaction is by choice, not limitation.

William nodded. After thinking about it, he realized that it would be weird for powerful Cultivators to move freely through the Ascended Realms yet be unable to touch a simple Mortal World. The only thing stopping them was probably the intervention of other Cultivators at the same level.

That said, William was starting to feel slightly powerless despite the dozens of Talents in his arsenal. He needed to come up with more ways to improve his strength in the short-term. To start, he wanted to make use of the Potential Points he had earned from the two World Seeds.

-Ascended Points: Energy extracted from all things related to the Celestial Planes. One Ascended Point is equivalent to one billion Potential Points and can be exchanged either up or downward.

-Companion Beasts without a unique name will now be grouped in the System Panel. When trying to upgrade a specific Beast without a name, be sure to carefully identify which Beast you plan to upgrade.

-Element Farms will be automatically harvested and stored in the warehouse.

-Farm warehouse size expanded.

-Chaotic Storage is now available. Spend Ascended Points to unlock a storage area for Chaotic Treasures.

-System Shop category now available. Within the System Shop, the Talent Shop, Companion Beast Shop, Chaotic Storage Expansion, Farm Panel, and any future shops will be co-located.

What? Potential Points don't work anymore? William looked at the System upgrade information in surprise. He wasn't expecting this upgrade to be a big deal, but it seemed that he had actually reached the current limit for the System upgrades.

If he wanted to improve the System any further, he needed to earn something called Ascended Points, which would require him to either earn a billion Potential Points and exchange them for a single AP, or he had to gain them somehow from within the Ascended Realms.n/ô/vel/b//in dot c//om

Other than the newly introduced Ascended Points, William also noticed that something called Chaotic Storage had appeared in the System Shop. For just a single Ascended Point, William could buy one cubic meter of space that could store the two World Seeds that were currently just hidden within the folds of his Illusionist's Cloak.

But again... a billion Potential Points... William was excited about the upgrades, but the absurd prices made him almost want to cry. He wondered if killing the Ascended Skeletal Dragon from before would have awarded him AP now.

If only I was a little faster at upgrading the System. I might have had a chance to earn an easy billion.

William decided not to dwell on the matter and promptly purchased two more Element Farms, filling them with the Chaos and Gravity Elements respectively. Since it was the day of harvest for the other farms, William didn't have to wait at all to grow the additional two.

Immediately afterwards, William spent another hundred million Points to upgrade his second Potential Farm to A-Rank, raising his daily income to 1.575 million Points per day.

At this rate, William would passively earn an Ascended Point in just under two years! William realized that the System was almost doing him a favor by requiring Ascended Points, since he wouldn't need to count how many millions or billions of Points he needed for future upgrades.

Those Points went fast, but they were well spent. William commented in satisfaction. He met up with Fria and brought her to the Slyte Island Nation, where he started absorbing the Greater and Superior World Cores related to the Order and Light Elements.

During the process, William thought of methods to increase his strength further, and it didn't take long before he realized he simply needed to Cultivate more.

While he could Ascend right now as it was with either his body or his soul, William was lacking the Cultivation that would boost his strength even further. He was only at Soul Formation 1 right now, which had six stages to cross before reaching Tribulation Transcendence.

Since he was pushing to increase his strength even more, William felt that he might as well go all out and upgrade his Cultivation Technique while he was at it.

He was currently using the Epic-Rarity Mana Devourer Technique, but William knew that it was quite inefficient, and he could do much better now that his Cultivation Talent had reached X-Rank.

After absorbing the Light and Order Veins in just under a month and giving Fria more Magical Beasts to battle against, William spent almost three months idly developing a Cultivation Technique that would make any Cultivator in the Mortal Realms salivate.

Not only the Mortal Realms, but William wondered if an Ascended Cultivator would be interested. Using the X-Rank Chaos Element, William was able to directly force the surrounding Mana across thousands of kilometers to approach his position like a tsunami.

With a bit of Mana from the Order Element, William then directed the Mana to approach him in an orderly manner and condense itself into incredibly dense strands of Spirit Qi that awarded him exactly twenty-five thousand Spirit Qi per minute.
