Reincarnated as an Energy with a System

Chapter 1681 Jameen City

1681  Jameen City

Ning and Shara arrived at Jameen City. The woman hadn't lied about it being close at all. They arrived there before noon, and quickly found a place to keep their horses and even sold the other that followed them at a rather good price.

Ning managed to get the horse buyer to fork up an entire gold coin. He didn't know if the horse was worth it or not, but that was 10 more silver coins than what his horses were worth. And they had come together with the cart.

Once he received the money, he went to go find a place to stay for the day, and maybe even the night.

Jameen city lay at the base of the large Lenes mountain ranges, so they could see the mountains right from where they were. The tall mountains with trees throughout them were visible right from where they were. The number of houses there was so sparse, that almost no one opted to stay in the mountain. Everyone stayed down in the city.

Even so, the city itself was not as developed as the other ones Ning had been to. Let alone Whitebridge, this city didn't even compare to the one they had just come from.

After much consideration, Ning decided it was best for them to spend a day in the city and rest, so he found a place for them to stay the night.

He also couldn't just go into the mountains without learning some more about it. They were quite dangerous after all. He needed to know how long they were, how much food they had to pack, where they could stop the horse to feed it, and such.

Not only that, Ning also needed some time to have the people come to him so he could help them with their spirits. He needed the quest points quite desperately.

Shara decided to take a nap, so Ning left on his own to learn what he could about everything.

He first made his way to the place in the city that kept official information about everything. The thing he wanted to find out was if they kept records of people who died in the mountains.

"Anything beyond this city is Lenes territory, my boy. If someone died in the mountains, the information will be on the other side with the people from Toma."

Toma turned out to be the next city they were headed to, which lay at the end of the mountain range on the other side. After gaining this information, Ning went to find out more about the journey. The information that he sought was found at the place that deployed carriages for the journeys.

To Ning's surprise, there were no carriages one could purchase to take to the other side. The journey was just so long that it did not make sense for them to take a carriage.

"It's a 2-week journey. We don't do that," the man told him. "If you want to go there, you will have to wait for the caravan. There should be one in a few days."

"Caravan?" Ning was interested now. "Do you know where I can find out more about it?"

The man told Ning and Ning made his way there, but not before telling the man about the Spirit that hung out around him. For a single silver coin, he would help with that Spirit, so the man paid the price.

Once Ning helped the man, he made his way to learn about the caravan.

The Caravan belonged to a rich merchant from the city who traded fabrics and produce from this side with the city on that side and brought back goods that could only be found on the other side.

The caravan was initially supposed to just be a few carriages to carry his items and some people to protect them, but because there were so many who wanted to take this journey with him for their own safety, he had allowed people to join him.

Now, years later, his caravan was the one thing people took to go and from Toma and Jameen. Ning was told what it was that he had to do to go there. If he was going by himself, he needed to pay them to provide him with food. If he was going to bright a horse, he needed more money. If he took care of his own food, he needed to pay less money to provide him with shelter.

If he took care of that too, then he need not pay them anything at all.

"Could I bring my own cart along? I will take care of my own food and shelter," Ning said.

"Of course. You are free to do so. What about food for your horse? There will be days when you won't see any grass at all. You will have to stock up on quite a bit of it."

"I will make that preparation too then. Thank you for letting me know."

They could sleep in the cart, so it was the only food they had to care about. Ning wondered how much it would cost to purchase it. Surely not that much.

The Caravan wouldn't leave for another 4 days, so it seemed Ning was going to have to stay more than a night in the city. That was problematic, but only in the sense that the female commander may come and find him.

He hoped that was not the case. They should not know anything about where they were, and should still believe that they were in hiding. Surely they couldn't arrive here in just 4 days. n/ô/vel/b//jn dot c//om

Ning returned to the tavern after a while and decided to take a nap himself. But before he went to his room, he talked with the tavern owner to announce to people that he was a Spirit Detective and he was willing to help anyone for a very cheap price.

The tavern owner was more than happy to do that for the price of a single silver coin. After Ning woke up from a short nap, he would soon have a busy day.
