Son, “Mom” Will Back You

Chapter 184

Luo Xiu lifted his eyes and smiled casually. "Hey now. I wasn't the one who scared her."

"Oh, you are right." An Yi touched Qiao Xi's chair gently. "She's just someone that you have been on an arranged date with. Look at you. You are acting like someone had stolen your wife."

Qiao Xi turned and stared at An Yi. He was about to say something.

"Wife?" Sitting across from the two of them on the other side of the wooden table, Luo Xiu lifted up his right hand and rotated the tea cup half way. Looking at the clear and shiny tea soup under the light, he smiled coldly and said, "I think not."

"……"

Qiao Xi turned back around and stared at Luo Xiu through gritted teeth.

An Yi couldn't help but smiled and turned toward Luo Xiu. "Young Master Luo, were you here today to offer me an eye-opener? You never bother with bickering in the past. How is it that you are so petty about just one word today?"

Luo Xiu smiled but didn't look up. "This is not the same."

"That's right. This is not the same!" Qiao Xi finally got out the words he had meant to say earlier. "It's a matter of principles!"

An Yi, "What principles?"

Qiao Xi, "Thou shall not covert your covert your friend's wife!"

"?"

Luo Xiu looked up and his smile was cold in his eyes.

Qiao Xi felt a guilty conscience for a quick second before he added, "Even if she was just an arranged date but, as a friend, you shouldn't try to steal her from me!"

An Yi, "What he said make sense."

Qiao Xi, "Besides, he was the one who said he never take away something that someone else has their eyes on – You were there and you heard that too, right?"

An Yi was the typical type who wanted a drama to be as entertaining as possible. "Yeah. I heard it. I heard it."

With An Yi siding with him, Qiao Xi straightened up his back, turned, and looked back at Luo Xiu expressionlessly, trying to apply some judgmental look on him.

Luo Xiu, "Yes, I did say that."

Qiao Xi, "Huh?"

"But you only went to shut your mother up. You weren't in love."

Qiao Xi asked tentatively, "You won't try to steal her away if I say I am?"

"……"

There was a moment of silence in the room.

Luo Xiu lowered his eyes and smiled, "You don't want to hear the answer."

Qiao Xi, "……"

He should have known better. The man who would probably bleed ink when sliced open would not have something called principles.

Qiao Xi stood up angrily. "I am announcing that we are not friends for the next three minutes."

He turned and walked away after he said that.

An Yi turned his head, "Where are you going?"

"Bath. Room."

When the door to their room closed again, An Yi finally turned back around. Luo Xiu, sitting kitty corner to him, seemed to be thinking about something and wasn't in the mood to chitchat.

An Yi wiped his smile off and said, "Qiao Xi isn't really annoyed at you. Don't worry about him."

Luo Xiu looked up, "?"

"……"

After exchanging a look with Luo Xiu for a few seconds, An Yi read the message in Luo Xiu's eyes wordlessly ––

Luo Xiu did not let that bother him at all.

An Yi couldn't help but chuckled. "I noticed that you were not all here so I thought you were worrying about Qiao Xi."

"Mmm, no." Luo Xiu looked back down.

"What are you thinking about then?"

Luo Xiu went silent for two seconds and said openly, "Matters about Mengzhi."

"Oh. That's that Miss Gu, right?" said An Yi. "The call that you have answered before Miss Gu's call. That was about the same thing, right?"

"Mmhmm."

"Should I say you are the Young Master of the Luo's after all?" An Yi joked with him. "I thought you were already prepared to go live in the mountains but your news is still so up to date. Someone's already updating you with just some minor signs."

Luo Xiu took a sip of the tea and, still with his usual look, said, "Stop making fun of me."

"I am telling the truth. Every bit of it."

Under the judgement look that An Yi tried to mask with his joking tone, Luo Xiu nodded casually, "Yes, you are right about that."

An Yi was surprised.
