The Invincible Full-Moon System

Chapter 1345 Raw Pain and Becoming Feral

"No..."

Kyran whispered a singular word that carried the weight of all his emotions.

His pupils trembled as he slowly raised his gaze to look at the figure.

Raising his gaze was heavier than normal.

Almost as if his entire being didn't want him to look at the Angel.

It was not that the Angel's aura was suppressing him, no, Kyran felt his senses were without a doubt protecting him—from something. A pain that he was not prepared for, a pain that he couldn't handle.

Before even coming here, the bad premonition was already following him.

His inner voice told him to move even faster, to exert everything that he had, to be fearful.

Fearful of what could possibly happen soon.

Kyran's breath became ragged and his vision blurred as his heart pounded faster and faster.

Once he focused on the Angel, his breath stopped—caught in his throat.

Silhouetted by the moonlight—behind him, the Angel's radiance was blotted out, his golden eyes were the only thing that could be made out, from his form. Seeing Kyran had arrived, a small smile crossed his lips.

Boasting, the Angel lifted his right hand, carrying the weight of a person.

Kyran felt the warmth of pleasure when he was complimented on being more alike to Rex.

In his life, his greatest ambition was to repay what Rex had done for him.

Showing that he could reach Rex's level was a way for him to show Rex his dedication.

But, he never knew his aspirations would be answered so soon.

"Naela!!" Kyran screamed at the top of his lungs.

His mind registered what he was seeing but his eyes and heart couldn't believe it.

Lifted by the Angel's hand was Naela, her body was rid of clothes—and her smooth skin was now cascaded with fresh blood from top to bottom. Her form emitted no energy—it was as if she was a wooden log.

No circulation of energy or anything.

Even when Kyran called her name, she remained silent, there was no answer from her lips.

As if that wasn't enough, the Angel pushed aside her hair gently to show her face.

Giving Kyran a clearer view that the bloodied woman was really Naela.

Splash!

Upon doing that, the Angel moved his arm and dropped Naela, right onto the river.

Kyran felt his entire world becoming numb as his eyes fixed on Naela's body.

She fell right onto the stream, her body stuck there, too heavy to push for the shallow water.

He looked down and saw the color of the small stream's water change.

It was dyed crimson and swam past him.

Flashes of Naela's expressions, sad or happy crossed his mind, he knew that despite the air between them along the way—Naela was happy inside. She felt accomplished now that she was able to make him comfortable around her.

Naela was happy to be closer to him.

Now her face had settled into a cold mask—and he doubted it would ever change again.

"Capture him and bring him to me," the Angel waved his hand.

Knowing that Kyran was not going down without a fight, dozens of assassins—wielding the power of light—rushed at him from all directions. One of them created a blob of light above and shone directly at Kyran.

Kyran was engulfed in light, it seared his entire body and enveloped his hands with gloves.

Gloves that weighed him down, forcing him to fall to his knees.

Following that, two assassins flapped their wings, and impaled Kyran in the chest with their swords—pushing him back and forcing him to lie on the ground. All of this happened as the Angel watched with cold, calculating eyes.

His emotions were unclear, his golden eyes couldn't be read.

On the other hand, as the assassins in white robes were restraining him, Kyran felt the warm energy of the Demon Moon climbing inside of him. He was stabbed and slashed but the pain from these attacks was superficial compared to the pain he was feeling inside.

'I should've trusted my guts more...'

Kyran was lifted by the swords penetrating him and slammed onto a platform.

A platform with wings encircling it and him at the center.

'Who cares about the carcass? My priority was misplaced or even outright wrong'

Casting a powerful holy spell—chains made of holy light wrapped around Kyran's body in an attempt to pin him down. Not only outside but it punctured inside, wrapping around all of his muscles, sinews, and skeleton.

More of his blood spilled out, spraying the platform and even spilling from the edges.

'Rex wouldn't be proud of me, he would be disappointed'

As if that wasn't enough, the assassins stabbed his wrists, pinning Kyran onto the platform.

None of them showed any emotions while they were doing this.

It was as if the act was natural for them.

'I failed to protect Naela when there are countless animals in the world and one Naela'

Kyran felt like he was the biggest idiot, he was busy handling the carcass instead of worrying for Naela's well-being. He looked at the night sky, and saw it being crystal clear and beautiful—as if his mourn wasn't even justified by the world.

But most importantly, he was extremely wrong about one thing.

'I'm a fool... the feeling I felt earlier was nothing but the tip of the iceberg'

Recalling the time earlier when he felt a pang at the prospect of Naela being hurt, Kyran was ashamed. He claimed it to be near what Rex felt whenever something bad happened—to the people he cared for, how dare he?

His feeling back then was nothing, it wasn't even worth comparing to what Rex felt.

Even now, Kyran felt what he was feeling earlier was nothing.

Now, he felt pain more than an ache in the heart or the tightening of his chest.

Compared to that naive feeling, this bad pain that he had forgotten was way worse. His body burned with a sick fury, blood pounding in his ears like a clawed hand had torn into his chest, ripping him open from the inside.

Shedding a single tear, Kyran's muscles tightened as he morphed into his Werewolf form.

Roar!!

He broke free from the restraints as if they were nothing—and the wounds the assassins had inflicted on him healed in an instant. All of the assassins were pushed back, as the blast from Kyran's roar carried intense moonlight energy.

Recovering from the roar, all of them summoned their holy weapons, radiating and pure.

Each pointed their weapons forward, ready to battle against Kyran.

None of them showed any expressions, showing that they were hardened through combat.

But what greeted them strike fear to even the most veteran of assassins.

Kyran's body steamed as his wounds closed rapidly, and in a slow manner, he turned to face the assassins, his azure four eyes were hollow but high wrath was on the verge of exploding from within.

"I understand it now," He muttered whisperingly. Discover hidden stories at empire

In the next second, Kyran's body blurred and he stood towering over two assassins.

Pausing for a quick second, Kyra swiped his clawed hand.

Seeing this, the two assassins raised their weapons to block but widened their eyes in utter horror when not even only their weapons but their whole entire arms were ripped from their bodies, standing no chance against Kyran's swipe.

"Grarggkh!!"

"Haargghk!!"

Both of them scream—their voices boomed over the silent surroundings.

Although seeing someone having their arms ripped wasn't the first for everyone around, the screams were chilling—giving off a rippling effect. It was so raw—that the pain they felt was palpable to the others.

However, Kyran quickly snuffed out the voices.

One of his massive hands crushed the left's head while his maw bites off the right's head.

It was loud in one second and silent in the next because of this.

For a second there, the sound of Kyran munching on the assassin's head filled the night and gave the others goosebumps. He ate it with delight and once he was done—he grabbed the headless corpse, split it into two, and swallowed them one by one.

As he did this, his vision began to blur, swallowed by the carmine hue of blood.

Once he finished devouring the two assassins, his muscles and energy swelled.

He felt refreshed and craving for more.

Kyran turned to the others, blood dripping from his mouth, and smirked devilishly.

Blurring once again, a massacre ensued.

Despite his negligence and foolish decisions, he made sure these people paid in blood.

Most of them were not able to trade blows with Kyran—his strength was swelling higher and higher with each bite of flesh he took. And even those who were able to trade blows weren't willing to do so as the gap between them spread with each clash.

Some were able to wound him but that was a total mistake.

Pain only made him more feral and unhinged than before.

Kyran devoured their flesh and slurped their blood, tainting the night with blood and gore.

In mere moments, he devoured the assassins, leaving only one.

Hunched, Kyran turned to the last meal, his fangs, furs, and claws dripping with blood.

'So this is the pain Rex was scared of, the pain of losing someone' He thought.n/ô/vel/b//jn dot c//om

Despite the condition, his mind was still fixed on that.

His mind was desperate to find meaning to what was happening, 'I always thought I knew it all but I don't, this feeling, this pain, it was alien to me—and now, I understand why Rex was doing what he did. Now that I know what comes next is natural...'

Seeing that everyone was dead—the last assassin held his weapon with a trembling hand.

Glancing at the Angel who was watching all of this happened, the assassin wanted to cry for help but Kyran already moved. He arrived and made four slashes with his claws in an instant, each strike going lower.

Once he was finished, he straightened his back and looked at the assassin's eyes.

"Eh...?" He was confused and looked down.

However, as he did that, his eyes rolled back as his entire body was sliced to pieces.

Kyran grabbed his head as the assassin's body, sliced into slabs of meat fell—to the ground.

He put the head into his mouth, and munched on it—blood mixed with brain matters spurting out with each bite. As he did that, Kyran turned and looked directly at the Angel, his grin was that of the devil's.

Now that Naela was gone, nobody was able to restrain him from going all out.

At this very moment, he was free to do anything he wanted.

Unlike the others, the Angel smiled in excitement when he saw this.

For the first time, it showed an expression.

Roar!!

Not even wasting a single second, Kyran dashed towards him.

But the Angel managed to react properly, knowing that Kyran would come for him.

He turned and sprinted away as the two disappeared into the woods again.

On the other hand, a couple of figures arrived seconds late and saw the bloody aftermath.

Judging from their ashen skins and pointy ears, they were Dark Elves who seemed to sense what was happening in this section of their borders. Seeing the bloodied grounds with not a single corpse, the two Dark Elves frowned.

It was obvious that a battle happened here and one side was devoured completely.

Only their blood remained as proof of the battle.

"Can it be...?"

"I'm sure of it, the roar sounded like it belonged to a Werewolf, and there's only one Werewolf pack that could be here near our territory—the Silverstar Pack"

"But who are they fighting?"

Upon pondering about the situation, the Dark Elves saw an intact body on the small stream, and from the distance, it looked to be another Dark Elf. Approaching the body, the two Dark Elves had their eyes widened.

Both of them instantly recognized who it was, "Naela! My baby!"

Seeing this, the female Dark Elf held Naela's body and wept in complete disbelief.

On the other hand, the male Dark Elf who seemed to be more level-headed despite being as emotional as the female Dark Elf checked on Naela. He inspected her wounds and nodded— "She could still be saved but we need to move quickly, she's losing a lot of blood"

Nodding her head, the female Dark Elf carried Naela and dashed away.

Meanwhile, the male Dark Elf looked into the distance.

"If it's Naela, then the Werewolf should be Lord Kyran. Who would do this?" He mused lightly.
