The Werewolf King's Bride

Chapter 408 Brand

(From Blue's Perspective)

All the people in the ballroom were wearing hooded blue cloaks. As if that was not enough to hide their identities, they also wore a mask on their faces. They bowed in unity as soon as we entered. I knew it was not directed towards me, but their lord who was with me.

"These are our people, my daughter," he whispered to me.

I did not want to be here. Not at all. I just wanted to run away. I was not sure where I would go. I just wanted to leave. Everything happening was suffocating.

A safe place, it was what I needed and definitely the least possible thing that would in reality happen to me.

He motioned with his hand and everyone stood up. I sensed terror. There was a straight path made for us, leading to the very end of the ballroom. This room was a ballroom but was not used as one. Instead, it seemed more like a church, just without the benches. I figured it was prepared that way to serve a particular purpose.

At the end of the room, I saw Cyan, Lloid, and two other masked men. One of them had a huge chest in his hand. It looked quite heavy, judging the way he was holding it.

"What are we doing here?" I asked. "Enough with the secrets. Tell me."

"Trust me. It's not that hard," he said.

"What do you mean?"

"You will see soon."

I was getting more and more anxious with each step I took. Something was going to happen? What was in that box? It was all too suspicious.

Lloid came to us with a grin and brought his face way too close to my ear. "Princess, it seems I am granted the honor to do it."

"Do what?" I asked, now feeling way too anxious. "I don't understand… Someone tell me!"

"It will be over soon. Then, you will be really part of us," Azure said.

And before I knew it, someone gagged me from behind with a long piece of cloth. It was one of the two masked men who did it. He was standing by Cyan and I did not even notice when he went behind me.

Then I remembered all of these people were dark mages. He just teleported, so I did not notice.

The gag was very tight. I could not say a single thing. It was hurting me as well.

'What are they doing? Someone please…'

"Be grateful, my daughter. No simple person gets the opportunity to get this mark."

Lloid pulled me by my hand and I fell on the floor. I thrusted my hands and legs and tried to get away.

I hastily looked to my left where the masked man with a chest was standing. Azure had opened the chest and what I saw inside made my soul leave my body. I could only stare in horror.

I started putting up a fight. Lloid held my hands from behind to hold me down. Azure nodded at the other masked man who gagged me and he tried to get a hold of my legs. I tried not to let him hold me and hit him beneath his jaw.

"Can't even hold her down, moron?" Lloid snapped.

The masked man looked like he could kill me with his glare and grabbed my legs so hard that his sharp long nails clenched my flesh painfully. This time, no matter how much I tried, I could not move. Moving my hips only did not help much as my legs and hands were held down.

"Cyan, heat it up," Azure commanded, handing a brand almost the same size as my palm. I shivered and tears began to fill my eyes. They were going to brand me. It was not a tattoo, definitely not a tattoo.

"Princess, it won't take long to heat that up. We use magic," Lloid whispered playfully into my ear, clearly enjoying the moment.

Cyan obeyed and did not glance at me for once as he started heating it up with his magic. He held the long shaft with one hand and the mark with another hand. His hand that was holding the mark was amidst orange-red flame which was heating the brand up.

What did the brand say? I did not know. I did not want to know. Would no one save me? I could not even do anything myself. I was completely restrained.

I watched as the front of the brand looked flaming red. If it was pressed again my skin… I could not think.

I watched in terror as Cyan slowly walked up to me with that flaming hot brand.

'Wait, please…'

"Let Lloid do it. He has earned this honor," Azure said. "My daughter, don't you be afraid. This is a small process."

'That brand… Haa, please someone save me… I don't want it… I don't… Dem…'

Cyan handed Lloid the brand. He was slightly hesitant. Or, perhaps I did not see it correctly. I thought he was on my side. Then, why was he not helping me? Should he not at least try to do something?

Even if he failed, I would still be consoled knowing someone tried to save me.

"Prince Cyan, please hold your sister's hands. She is quite energetic today despite having a fever."

I looked at Cyan and shook my head, desperately begging him to save me. He did not even give me a second look. He held my hands right as Lloid let freed them from his grasp.

I tried to move, but Cyan was pretty strong too. "What will be the perfect place?" Lloid asked, turning to Azure.

"She is very slender. Her arm won't fit the mark," he pondered. "Her back… Do it on her back. Flip her over Cyan. Don't hurt her needlessly."n/o/vel/b//in dot c//om

Cyan and the masked man flipped me over. I was held down by the two men forcefully. Lloid bent over and touched my back slowly over my dress.

Suddenly, he tore a huge part open off the dress around my back.
