The Werewolf King's Bride

Chapter 410 Blood

(From Blue's Perspective)

I sat up with difficulty on the bed. I had fallen unconscious at some point. My back hurt less than before. But it was still very uncomfortable.

Although it hurt me a lot to move, I still changed my clothes by myself. Cyan had been in the room as usual.

I truly thought he was on my side. But I was wrong. I was very wrong.

In front of so many people, I was marked. They shouted happily as if it was a celebration. Remembering that made me feel sick.

I wondered what Dem was doing now. Was he doing okay? I had a feeling he was not. Was he eating well at least?

When I was sick, Dem barely ate anything. Now that I was missing, it was not hard to imagine his condition.

If only he knew, he would have done anything to save me. To be fair, I was glad he did not know. He could not win against those dark mages, especially Azure. I did not want his life to be in danger.

"Tomorrow is the beginning of your mission," Cyan said. "You will be told in detail during dinner."

I did not say anything. The urge to smack his head hard against a rock was too powerful. I was not interested in anything anymore. I just wanted to get out of here.

"Actually, Father wanted to have that person control the King of Querencia's mind for a long time. But the King of Trouvaille ruined the plan. In the beginning, Father would have chosen him to be your husband, but he had black mana, thanks to his mother killing a dark mage and absorbing their power."

I knew about this already. Evan's mother was a black-eyed female werewolf. Black-eyed female werewolves possessed no power but could absorb a dark mage's power by killing them, which was exactly what his mother did. She was not a dark mage, but had the power of a dark mage. Evan's theory suggested that his mother was with Azure and worked with him continuously throughout the whole plan.

His mother had been dead for a long time now.

If both of the parents were mages, their children would surely be a mage too. But if one of the parents was a mage, there was a chance of their child not having mana. Although it was a rare occurrence, there was a possibility.

For example, Flint's daughter probably did not have mana. Flint and his wife Rose suspected so.

"Since he was out of the question as Azure could not control his mind, King Demetrius came into the plan. His mind was controlled for seven years, not entirely though. Because King Ford awakened your power slightly, when King Demetrius came into contact with you, the chain broke slightly. That's why he could not be controlled completely. That was what King Ford wanted.

Because of that, there was a change in the plan."

'Why is he telling me this now? I am never thinking he is on my side again.'

"And now, King Demetrius can't be controlled at all. You know, if Azure failed to bring you here if you did not come to the lavender field that night, he would have used your husband to lure you," he said and my heart almost jumped out of the core. Using Dem to lure me?

Thinking about it, it would have been the most effective way. I would have done anything for him. I would not have hesitated to turn myself in if it was for him.

"Are you not going to talk to me?"

I did not answer. I tried to accommodate the pain in my back and failed almost instantly.

"Whatever, fine," he shrugged. "It's kinda hard to understand weird people like you anyway."

'Son of a…'

When it was time for dinner, Lloid came to summon us. This morning, I had nothing for breakfast because I was in too much pain to care about that. During lunch, I had some soup. I actually forced myself to have it.

"Princess, if it's hard for you to walk, I can carry you," Lloid grinned.

"I am fine. I will walk."

"As expected of the lord's daughter, the princess is very strong."

In reality, I was not a strong person at all. My mental health had improved, but not to the point of being called a person with a strong mentality. My physical health was out of the question. I was very far from being strong.

Maybe at least my power as a dark mage was strong.

"Princess, do you truly need no help walking? You are limping."

"I am fine!"

"She said she is fine, Lloid," Cyan coldly said. "Don't push her."

"It was not my intention to make the princess feel uncomfortable."

"Yet, you are."

Sliding through the bizarre path leading to the dining hall, we were greeted by Azure who was already at the dining hall.

"My daughter, how are you feeling now?"

'I want to kill you!'

"She is not in the mood to talk. She hasn't talked to me as well," Cyan said.

"Oh my, why is that?"

"Maybe the princess is mad?" Lloid suggested.

I felt like I was losing myself. It would be no surprise if I threw the plate at someone. "Take a seat, my daughter. You must be hungry."

I sat down. Although I barely had anything for a long time, the smell of food made my stomach churn in pure disgust. I wanted to throw everything away and get as far away from this smell as possible. Dem and Doctor Dimitri would be very disappointed to see that the progress I made had just gone back to a worse stage.

The rib tasted weird. There was a type of red sauce that was way too liquid. It tasted too bad.

"This sauce…," I muttered. "It tastes weird."

"That's my favorite sauce," Azure said. "I am sad my daughter doesn't like it."

"That's the lord's favorite thing to eat with anything," Lloid added. "That's the blood of those who tried to go against the lord. Those are nothing but silly pests."

"B-Blood…?" I repeated as my hands started shaking. "This is blood? I am served blood…?"

"You truly don't like it? I thought you would like it, so I told the chef to serve it to you," Azure said. "In that case, I will tell them to…"

I moved as far away from the table as possible and threw up right away. I felt a surge of pain spreading throughout my body. My throat felt painful.

"I will take her to her room," Cyan said mechanically.

"She is truly unwell," Azure sighed. "But it can't be helped. Tomorrow's mission has to be completed. Cyan, do tell your sister about tomorrow's mission. In detail."n/ô/vel/b//jn dot c//om

"Yes, I will."

Cyan pressed a napkin on my lips and picked me up from the ground. He teleported to my room and immediately took me to the toilet.

"I was never served that shit," he said. "I am glad I am not worthy enough."

I threw up some more in the toilet. I felt suffocated. I was fed blood! How could those people talk about it so naturally?

It seemed I would never be able to eat anything from now on, at least, not some red-colored liquid.

"Are you that disgusted?" he asked, bending.

"I want to die…!"

"You want to leave, not die," he muttered.

I glanced at him. He looked almost unbothered. It pissed me off. But at the same time, I wondered why I was pissed. Because he was not helping me? But why would he help me?

We had met for the first time just a few days ago. Why would he help someone he had just met? I was his sister, but that did not mean I was not a stranger to him.

If I was in his position, would I have helped him? I did not know the answer. It depended entirely on the circumstances.

"Yes, I want to leave. So what? Are you gonna help me?" I sneered.

"What if I do?"

"Haha, stop joking," I let out a forced laugh.

He was silent. I glanced at him and just by a glance, I knew he was not joking.
